Cruise beneath towering Mitre Peak

About This Experience

A cruise on Milford Sound is the classic way to experience Fiordland, gliding beneath Mitre Peak's 1,692m near-vertical face and past cliffs that plunge straight into water up to 300m deep. Boats venture out to the Tasman Sea at the fiord's mouth before turning back, passing seal colonies at Seal Rock and, often, waterfalls that only appear after rain — which, in one of the wettest places in New Zealand, is fairly often. Both scenic and nature-focused cruise options run several times daily.
