About This Experience
Every Saturday morning, the car park behind Ōtara Town Centre in South Auckland fills with one of the country's largest and most vibrant markets — a Pacific institution since 1978, run as a community fundraiser. Stalls sell Samoan, Tongan and Cook Islands textiles, tapa cloth, fresh produce and home-cooked island food, and it's one of the most authentic places in Auckland to experience the city's huge Pacific population, far removed from the postcard version of New Zealand.
